The warm tones of Mexican style and design are now easier for designers & homeowners to make
their own with Pittsburgh Paints' recent introduction of the
Hacienda Style Color Palette.
Collaborating with Karen Witynski and Joe P. Carr, award-winning authors of the Mexican design
book series, Pittsburgh Paints has developed a color palette that goes hand-in-hand with the authors'
newly released book ‐
Hacienda Style, now in major bookstores all across the U.S. and Canada.
Mirroring the timeless appeal and rustic elegance of Mexico's traditional haciendas,
the
Hacienda Style Color Palette features 18 brand new color additions to Pittsburgh Paints'
The Voice of Color® program. With rich colors such as Ticul, Mexican Jade, and Sorbete de
Melon, homeowners and designers everywhere can now incorporate the grace and essence of
hacienda living.

"With its rugged, romantic beauty, deep colors and time-honored natural textures, Hacienda
style is becoming an ever-increasing design influence," said Witynski. "Walls become their
own decorative accent. The traditional paint colors available from Pittsburgh Paints help
homeowners and designers achieve classic hacienda style."
As book authors, designers, gallery owners, and architectural restoration consultants,
Witynski and Carr have been at the forefront of the Mexican design movement for more than 25 years.
They have worked on residential and commercial design projects throughout the U.S. and Mexico,
including restaurants, resorts, and an 18th-century Yucatan hacienda. In
Hacienda Style,
Carr and Witynski look at the vast architectural heritage of Mexican Haciendas that spans
four centuries.
In collaboration with Pittsburgh Paints, Carr and Witynski drew upon the rich colors they
found in the elegant arches, stone carved-columns, clay tiles, and rustic wooden tables
that define Mexican colonial design to create the new color palette. From sun-baked hues
to deep jewel tones, and rough-hewn woods to organic, earthy elements, the
Hacienda Style
collection brings old-world Mexican style to life.

"Color is a key component of hacienda style and we are proud to be able to introduce the
Hacienda Style Color Palette," said Dee Schlotter, color marketing manager, Pittsburgh Paints.
"The new colors are unique to Pittsburgh Paints. They are tintable in every product of ours,
including our zero VOC, environmentally-responsible paint, Pure Performance."
